Suggested Menu planner

  • Breast feed or bottle feed first and then offer tastes.
  • Offer 1st tastes mid morning or when baby is most alert and awake (It is adviseable to give new foods earlier in the day as this gives time to observe for any adverse food reactions.)
  • Try giving one taste a day for the first week, so it gives baby a chance to familiarise with the introduction of the spoon and the new texture.
  • The amount baby will take in the early weeks is between 1 teaspoon to 2 tablespoons.¬† The first few attempts are usually pushed out with the tongue.
