About the book

Toddlertastes was written by two nurses qualified in child health. In their role as child health nurses, they provide information sessions to families on the importance of healthy nutrition, management of fussy eating, and ages and stages in toddler develoment.

The early years of a child’s brain development form the foundations of their adult life.Toddlers need an environment of love, security, and appropriate sensory experiences to help reach their potential.

A toddler’s diet also has a similarly important role in their future health and well-being. An unhealthy diet during this critical time in their lives can lead to significant health problems in later years.

Toddlers need to eat tasty, fresh, unprocessed meals with their families. Processed foods are high in trans fats which are particularly unhealthy for your children to eat. These foods are far more readily available than in previous generations, resulting in many more children being overweight. Some are now developing diseases once only seen in adults, such as Type 2 diabetes.

Toddlertastes is a snapshot of a day in the life of a toddler, especially how they play, and what they eat. Toddlertastes provides practical tips on play, nutrition, and sleep.
